Brits on Pole

So – the A1GP season is over, the Brits came third again, the Irish charged up the field, and the Swiss were unstoppable. In September it starts again, when they’ll all be driving Prancing Horses, but until then here are the details of who won what and who finished where.

Robbie Kerr delighted home fans with a win and a close second in the final two races of the A1GP season at Brands Hatch, seizing third in the final standings.

While Lewis Hamilton and his rivals laboured under the Spanish sun, the A1GP circus pitched up in a rainy Regent Street to give London’s West End a taste of life in the fast lane.

We’re back from holiday here at Brits on Pole, and catching up with everything we’ve missed – starting with A1GP’s Shanghai event, where Switzerland came close to wrapping up the championship and Ireland took another podium.

Adam Carroll scored Ireland’s maiden win when A1GP visited Mexico City last weekend, while Oliver Jarvis grabbed a pair of second places to move Team GBR up to fourth in the overall standings.

A strong weekend for Team GBR fell apart when a freak accident in the feature race cost Oliver Jarvis a possible second consecutive podium – and led him to admit Britain’s hopes of the title are now over.

Robbie Kerr put Team GBR on the podium at a rain-soaked Eastern Creek Circuit, ending a run of British bad luck that had stretched back to the previous race in New Zealand.

Team GBR’s Robbie Kerr and the other British-based drivers have set themselves a stiff test for both the sprint and the feature races in New Zealand after disappointing qualifying sessions.

Team Ireland scored second place and GBR sixth when the part-biofuelled A1GP field hit the track for a first, history-making, practice session on Friday.
