Never mind Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa. As we come to the close of the 2008 season, let’s not forget about all those fantasy F1 players who are on tenterhooks to find out how they’re going to do in their respective leagues.
So, how did our McLaren Grand Prix League 2008 team perform at Fuji?
We’d like to bring you an update on the Brits on Pole team’s recent performance in McLaren’s Grand Prix League 2008 fantasy F1 competition - but there’s a slight hitch.
Oh, yes! The recent off-a-cliff decline of the Brits on Pole McLaren Grand Prix League team has been dramatically reversed thanks to great performances by our drivers and teams in Montreal.
McLaren has done its sums, and the latest scores from round five of its Grand Prix League fantasy racing competition are now up on the site. The Brits on Pole team is delighted to announce that its trapdoor-like habit of dropping hundreds of places after every race is now a slide. A mere trickle, in fact.
It’s taken us a while to make this admission. But in the interests of full disclosure we have to report that taking advantage of the transfer window has done little to boost our McLaren Grand Prix League team.
Having got home from holiday and sat down to update the site, we were alarmed to learn we were in the last few hours of the transfer window for McLaren’s Grand Prix League fantasy F1 competition.
This morning we awaken chastened to the harsh realities of life as F1 team principals. Our refusal to invest in Ferrari, our reliance on Lewis Hamilton and our backing of lots of promising-on-paper midfield drivers who largely ended in the gravel at Bahrain mean that we’re another 4,912 places adrift this morning in the McLaren Grand Prix League.
Well, we promised that we’d tell you how we’re doing in McLaren’s Grand Prix League 2008 contest, and here we are. Team BritsOnPole pulled in 343 points from the Australian Grand Prix, placing us 1,390th out of 18,237 players.
