Championship leader Ryan Briscoe and Sheffield’s Justin Wilson will start on the front row at Mid-Ohio as the IRL attempts to follow last weekend’s thriller in Kentucky by proving it can also serve up an entertaining road-course race.
It’s a comparison that had come to us more or less as soon as we heard the bitter-sweet news that Justin Wilson had rescued his 2009 IndyCar season by landing a drive with Dale Coyne Racing – yet another team struggling to stay afloat in difficult times.
It’s possible that Justin Wilson has secured an IRL drive for next season with Dale Coyne Racing, where he is likely to pair with existing driver Bruno Junqueira. But the team represents a significant step down from Newman/Haas/Lanigan.
