A1GP: Pre-season news in brief
A very quick round-up of the latest news from A1GP:
- Confirmed British drivers in the car for the next round of pre-season testing at Silverstone, due to take place on September 18 and 19, are Oliver Jarvis and Robbie Kerr - no surprises there, then.
- Ralph Firman’s previous experience in the Team Ireland car seems to be paying off. Not only will he drive during testing, he’ll also be kicking off the racing season in the Netherlands in a fortnight’s time. It seems Adam Carroll will have to wait a while to prove himself…
- Team Great Britain has unveiled its livery for the 2007/08 season - you can see a picture here, albeit one that’s a little on the small side…
- New qualifying rules have been introduced that will work as follows: the feature race grid will no longer be determined by the finishing order of the sprint race. The feature race grid will be decided by the team’s fastest single lap from either of the third or fourth 15-minute segments. Got that? Good…
- The series is continuing with its crusade to get its cars running on biofuels - but it’s hit a technical hitch recently, one organisers call “an incompatibility issue between the new biofuel and current engine.” However they claim to be confident that they already have a solution, and the development car will still run on the mixture during the upcoming testing session.
