Brits on Pole

Following on from last week’s bit of fun, summing up everyone’s performances in Australia in just six words per driver or team, here’s our look at the winners and losers in Malaysia.

A cluster of British drivers will start the Malaysian Grand Prix from the middle of the field – with very mixed feelings about how they ended up there.

To mark the fact that only six cars finished the Australian Grand Prix, we thought for a bit of fun we’d use just six words to sum up the performance of each driver and team. We’d love to hear your versions in the comments!

It wasn’t supposed to be this way – but Lewis Hamilton won’t be complaining. The young Brit began his second F1 season by putting his McLaren on pole in Melbourne, while main rival and defending champion Kimi Raikkonen starts near the back after mechanical problems.
