So, what’s it like to drive a lap around Donington Park right now?

That question has been answered – and you can see the results – after Motor Cycle News (MCN) magazine did a filmed tour of the out-of-action Leicestershire circuit and took a first-hand look at its part-completed building works.

The publication, which describes Donington as “still the spiritual home of MotoGP,” despite the fact that Silverstone is currently its physical home, is running a feature on the planned renovation in its latest issue. Learn more here.

At the weekend Donington was thrown open to visitors who were able to view for themselves the results of the failed bid to upgrade it to a Formula One-standard venue.

Viewers could walk alongside Starkey’s Straight and view the Coppice bend, seeing excavated run-off areas, trenches across the track and piles of building materials and debris. See our photos of the event here.
