A1GP: grid to form up on Regent Street

A1GP fans will be able to get up close and personal with their own national squad’s car in the unlikely setting of London’s Regent Street next month.

Check out our updated post with start times and travel info here >>

As part of the pre-race build-up for the season-ending British race at Brands Hatch, all 22 teams will be bringing their cars to the famous shopping street and forming them up in a full A1GP grid.

The event takes place on Sunday April 27 - the details so far circulated don’t include a start time, but you’ll know when it’s begun because they’re firing up one of the car engines to kick things off.

Formula One legends Emerson Fittipaldi and Alan Jones will be present and, naturally, the drivers and team personnel will also be there as part of A1GP’s proud boast of letting the public closer to the action than they’d get anywhere else.

There will also be giant screens broadcasting racing highlights and driver interviews from throughout the 2007/08 season - and, to mark A1GP’s partnership with Ferrari, two of the 599 GTBs used as the series’ safety car will also be on display.

The season’s final race weekend kicks off a few days later with the usual build-up of practice and qualifying, then race day is Sunday May 4, with the sprint race at 11am and the feature race at 2.30pm.
