The GP2 Series website is holding a poll to discover who fans back as having the best driving style on the F1 feeder series grid of 2008.
Whether you’re backing series veteran Giorgio Pantano, latecomer Lucas di Grassi who has nevertheless climbed to the upper reaches of the standings, the stylish Bruno Senna or home-grown Honda hopeful Mike Conway, then it’s your chance to have your say.
Several drivers are being spoken about in connection with Formula One. Di Grassi and Romain Grosjean have both tested with Renault. Sebastien Buemi is a test-driver for Red Bull and must surely be eyeing Sebastian Vettel’s soon-to-be-vacated Toro Rosso seat.
Bruno Senna drives for Christian Horner’s Arden team and is a protege of Gerhard Berger, so perhaps Sebastien Bourdais needs to pull something out of the hat. And Mike Conway is in the Honda driver development programme, although with no prospect of imminent promotion.
The one name that’s noticeably absent from speculation is Giorgio Pantano. The veteran has been racing in GP2 since 2005 and is arguably the most successful driver of all time there – besides his 2004 stint at Jordan.
But paddock opinion seems to feel that if he was going to catch anyone’s eye, he’d have done it by now…
