F1: Coulthard on his role in F1

David Coulthard says he’s happy with his current role at Red Bull - and is making a contribution to the sport even though he’s not challenging for race wins and the World Championship.

Coulthard, who is the top points-scoring British driver of all time, and the fourth-highest points scorer ever, admitted to the Setanta Sports website that “opinion is split over whether I am any good or not.”

He added: “I won races but I didn’t win the championship. I lose no sleep over that. “Even if I had won the title, I believe I would be viewed like a Damon Hill world champion, where people smile and say: ‘Yeah, but he had the best car hadn’t he?’.”
