GP2: Carroll aims to win at Monza

,

Adam Carroll has set his sights on challenging for victory at next weekend’s Monza GP2 race, where he hopes the winning ways he demonstrated in Turkey will not desert him.

The FMS International star lined up two podiums at Istanbul Park despite some balance and tyre problems which made it tougher for him to drive a consistent race.

Nevertheless, he was able to bring the car home third in both the feature and sprint races and now he will be looking to try to improve on that in Monza, where FMS International scored a double win last year.

Speaking after that race, he said: “I had a good balance so I was very, very fast in both races through there. And the team has worked very hard: we’ve got five podiums, two wins, a second and two thirds, so it’s pretty good considering.

“More points for the championship, and then we go to Monza which is another good circuit, we had a good set up last year and hopefully we’ll do the same.

“The guys are always doing a very consistent job. We just still need to do a little work, which we are doing, for out and out pace so we can fight again for another race win.”

• The Monza weekend will kick off with practice and qualifying both being held on Friday September 7. Race one is on Saturday September 8 and race two on Sunday September 9.
