The faltering A1GP series has lost another car from its delayed season opener with Team Pakistan’s Yorkshire-born driver Adam Khan’s decision to pull out on safety grounds.

A strong weekend for Team GBR fell apart when a freak accident in the feature race cost Oliver Jarvis a possible second consecutive podium - and led him to admit Britain’s hopes of the title are now over.

Robbie Kerr put Team GBR on the podium at a rain-soaked Eastern Creek Circuit, ending a run of British bad luck that had stretched back to the previous race in New Zealand.

A mystery mechanical fault and a controversial clash with the American car meant that Team GBR failed to finish either of A1GP’s New Zealand races and now drop to eighth in the championship.
