Media and agencies
This page has information for organisations who are interested in supplying content or press material to Brits on Pole or otherwise working with us on promotions and tie-ins.
What we are looking for
The focus of this site is British drivers at all levels of open-wheel racing, regardless of which country the series takes place in. We have a wider remit to cover events of interest to our readers, such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival, the Race of Champions and Autosport International.
We also take an interest in the British motorsport industry and are particularly interested in content that provides fans with a behind-the-scenes insight. This could be in the form of interviews with engineers or other personnel whose work usually goes under the radar, or of industry news.
The first questions we always ask are: is this content valuable to our readers? Will it give them insights they can’t get elsewhere? If you can provide us with news releases, content or potential interviewees that gains a positive answer to either then we are that much more likely to use them. Our decision will always be made on the basis of editorial judgement.
There are no circumstances under which we will accept pre-written marketing copy and we will at all times retain full editorial control over material published on this site.
About us
We are a two-person team, both qualified journalists who each have around 15 years experience in the industry. This covers everything from local papers to national magazines, broadcasters and newspaper websites, and between us we have done everything from reporting and subbing to news-editing and producing. We have both worked as agency copywriters and one of us is a former PR with substantial experience of placing stories and guests with TV and radio newsrooms.
The point of all this is that, even though we are now working in a social media setting, we apply the same professional values to our work here that we have throughout our careers. This means we will look at your story, assess its news value for us and give you an honest response. If we decide we can use your material, or take up an offer of a visit or interview, you have our assurance that it will be handled professionally.
When we are not working on Brits on Pole we run a web design and copywriting agency which gives us considerable expertise in the effective use of online media.
